Gro Protocol is currently in beta and doing a guarded gradual release. In order to make sure it’s ready for prime time, we want to test with experienced DeFi users first.
So we teamed up with DegenScore, partly because we think they’re cool, but also because it lets us work out who has DeFi experience.
This lets us get early feedback from experienced DeFi users who are highly engaged in this space. The more engaged the early users are, the more they can help shape the product journey.
Intro to DegenScore
DegenScore looks at how much a wallet has interacted with DeFi smart contracts and protocols. After you connect your wallet you get a score — to see how much your wallet has ‘endured’…
‘Degen’ is community slang for a heavy DeFi user. Originally this was an insult by traditional investors that saw the break from investment orthodoxy as ‘degenerate gambling’ — but we don’t see ourselves that way! We wear the name with pride.
How to get in
Click through to the Gro dApp link and you will see a DegenScore screen pop up. You connect your most used (or most degenerate) wallet, hit ‘ape in’ and see your score.
What if I’m not degenerate enough?!
For those who haven’t had enough DeFi interactions — don’t worry! The dApp will take you through to our Discord, where you’ll be kept up to date with the rollout. It won’t be too long before we open up more widely.

Being a Degen doesn’t mean being reckless or irresponsible. Gro Protocol has now undergone another audit (Code Arena) and is opening up more widely.
Please remember as always that DeFi is a very new space and while that’s exciting, there are risks. Make sure you do your own research and only supply assets you can afford to lose.
